A very typical coming of age movie - the usual elements of unrequited love, teenage angst and unfulfilled potential are all present. decent acting by Highmore but I am never convinced by Roberts. after years in the industry, she's still wooden.
easy enough to watch on a slow night but don't really make a point of it.
