Review of The Art of Getting By (2011) by Nick R — 06 Sep 2011
This film exceeded my expectations and showed some understanding of what it is like to be 17. A cut above your usual High School Rom Com.
The storyline is one that has been done many times before, but this had some fairly plausible character development and not too many cliches. Special mention for Jarlath Conroy, who plays the art teacher. For me, he was the best thing in the movie. He was an undertaken in the remake of True Grit, but has never previously stood out for me. I hope to see more of him in the future.
