Ok. Yes, the plotline is trite, we've seen these characters (the disenfranchised boy and manic pixie dream girl) a million times before, the characters make marriage seem disposable, the kid from Sky High stopped growing, and 18 year olds somehow get into every bar in New York, order drinks, but never actually drink from them.

But you know what? I actually liked it. Something about it was pretty honest. Yes, I wanted to smack Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts characters multiple times, but there was such an honesty with what they were saying, like they weren't just doing it for attention.

That is partially due to Highmore and Robert's performances, which were actually pretty good. And the storyline was clever, especially near the end when he was actually motivated. Roberts character was a little more confusing, but I don't know, basically, there was something about this movie that I liked.

Call me weird, but I was entertained the entire time.
