Review of The Arbor (2010) by Ollie W — 09 Oct 2011
An incredible, innovative documentary that is as artistic and subversive as it is tragic and moving. The consequences of canny Northern playwright and screenwriter Angela Dunbar's misguided motherhood and alcoholism is shown to reverberate brutally down through the generations of her relatives simultaneously touched and irrevocably damaged by her legacy.
Clio Barnard is a superbly intelligent director and undoubtably an Artist.
