Review of The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975) by Whitney F — 21 May 2006
When I was growing up one of the last televison salvations I was given before I had to go back to school was The Wonderful World of (usually praying for a cartoon) Disney on Sunday nights. The Apple Dumpling Gang was one of the better movies they showed basically for the comedy duo of Conway and Knotts.
Now it's solidly rewatchable (especially for Conway/Knotts) because it's loaded w/ actors from the era of television I grew up on including Bill (Dr David Banner) Bixby, Susan (Katherine Papadapolis) Clark, Harry (Colonel Potter) Morgan and Slim "if you move I'll bast a hole in ya you can throw a mule through" Pickens.
