An extraordianry movie. Duvall, in a career full of great performances, gives the best performance of his career here. A fascinating portrait of a flawed man who is sincere in his religious convictions.
You wait for the moment when either his facade cracks or he loses his faith but it never comes. The final scene in the church is absolutely devastating.
