Review of The Apartment (1960) by Sophie H — 13 Oct 2008
Improves with every watch. The richness and the attention to detail in all areas is remarkable. How the film veers between dark drama and light comedy is breathtaking, as are the performances. Shirley MacLaine is a mix of emotions, portraying her character's pain and sorrow so perfectly but it's hard to ever take your eyes off Lemmon.
What the man does in this film is nothing short of a miracle.
