Review of The Apartment (1960) by Aimee A — 15 Mar 2010
There aren't many films that I like upon first viewing and this is not one of them. I fell in love when I first saw it and I love it more and more each time. C.C Baxter may just be every girl's enchanting dream man.
While his motives would be described as unethical; he rents out his apartment to his married co-workers for them to have hanky-panky with their mistresses, you just don't see him as a dog in any way.
He is very fond of his reputation and status in his career because it is what matters to him, so he will do anything to advance in his position. However, when it comes to the beautiful Fran Kubelik, C.
C Baxter throws all of his beliefs about his reputation out the door in the name of love for her and realizes what is more important. Yes... I'm a girl and the ending fills me with glee and hope.
