Surprisingly not terrible, although it suffers from the same sorts of problems most kids' movies have: cliche, too much gross-out humor, and unnecessary movie star voice "talent". Seriously, why would you cast Nic Cage as a voice? But it was cute and heartwarming, and in a few places even genuinely funny.
