Review of The Ant Bully (2006) by Kevin R — 04 Oct 2009
Now I?m out of underwear.
Lucas Nickle is a boy who is often bullied and the butt of jokes. He takes his frustrations out on ants and bugs regularly; however, one day the ants fight back. Zock, a magician ant, develops a serum that turns Lucas into the same size as an ant. The leader of the ants will only allow Zoc to turn Lucas back into a regular size boy once he has learned how to be an ant. Lucas will need to survive as a boy the size of an ant if he ever hopes to return to his family.
?We mean you no harm.?
?Please, go in peace.?
John A. Davis, director of Santa versus the Snowman and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, delivers The Ant Bully. The storyline for this cartoon is pretty good and well delivered. The animation is first rate and on par with current Dreamworks movies such as Shrek. The voiceovers were well selected and include Nicolas Cage, Julia Roberts, Bruce Campbell, Regina King, Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, and Paul Giamatti.
?Bed wetting is nothing to be afraid of.?
I actually caught this film while visiting some friends from college (Pennsylvania State University). Their son was a big fan of this movie. This film reminded me a little of Antz and A Bug?s Life. The story was well delivered and the characters were well portrayed. I thought Julia Robert?s character, Hova, was wonderful. This movie is worth your time if you are a fan of animated films.
?Wipe me!?
