Review of The Ant Bully (2006) by Christina J — 22 Jan 2010

An average animation. A young boy (Zach Tyler) in town who is the subject of a big bully vents out his anger on a colony of ants. One of the wizard Ant (Nicolas Cage) make a potion which transform the boy into small size.

He is capture back to the nest and to work and learn about ants. His ant guardian Julia Roberts spurs him on and care for him despite him being naughty. Then a group of hornet attacks the ants. Zach is cornered by one of it and he lights up a firecracker and manage to chase all hornets away.

In the nest they show him some old cave paintings of their ancestor and the ultimate destroyer which is the exterminator. He had sign a contract for him to come and do his job. Zach leads some of the ants back to his house so that he can call the company to cancel the contract but he dial the wrong number.

The wizard ant doesn't like him very much still. One time Zach got swallow by a frog but was save by luck inside the stomach by the wizard ant. Then the exterminator arrive. Zach figure the only way is to use the potion to change the guy into small size as well.

They go to find the hornets for help which they were almost kill until the hornets were dying by the fumes. The ants and hornets work together but he is all suit cover up. 2 of the insects from the frog stomach flew in through the pants bottom and it bit the privates of the exterminator.

Zach had the potion smear onto the hornet sting and poke the butt. They chase him away when he shrunk to midget size. Zach is hail as the hero in the ant colony and granted back to human form. When the big bully came again, Zach stood up bravely and rally the others to his side to overthrow the bully.

There are some funny parts and really fun for the kids and adults.
