Review of The Ant Bully (2006) by Megan N — 07 Mar 2010
Let's start first by saying that Bruce Campbell is one of the voice actors in the movie, so that's one plus. They used a pretty well known cast for this movie, actually, which surprised me a bit.
The movie follows the story of a kid who is picked on by bullies all of the time due to his video game nature and his small stature who in turn bullies that which is smaller than him. I believe that I learned about that in psychology when it comes to abusive parents. Anyway, he gets shrunk down to ant size and must "learn to become an ant" which actually has a deeper meaning than it sounds.
The movie played out a bit like "Bug's Life" but with a little less humor. Most of the humor was found with Bruce Campbell's character which just made me smile. And while there were many characters to that you could have followed or straying plots that it could have turned down, it didn't, which made the pacing and main plot much tighter. Overall a good movie.
