Review of The Ant Bully (2006) by Brad G — 20 May 2010
A shockingly funny and clever animated adventure in which an evil little brat gets Twilight Zoned by Nicolas Cageâ??s ant wizard Zoc and lives and learns the ways of one tormented ant colony. Along with Mr.
Cage you also get fabulous voice work from Julia Roberts, Ricardo Montalban, Bruce Campbell, Paul Giamatti, Regina King, and even Lilly Tomlin. There is some gross out humor at play, but itâ??s more fun than sick and I enjoyed that the film wasnâ??t afraid to go dark at times by killing a bug here, a bug there, a terrifying frog attack there.
Itâ??s definitely the best of the three CGI Ant flicks (A Bugâ??s Life, Antz, and The Ant Bully). VF.
