Review of The Ant Bully (2006) by Aaron B — 23 Sep 2010

ANT BULLY It is about a young man named Lucas. who is constantly being picked on by the neighborhood bully for being small. Lacking friends and self confidence he decides to turn all his frustrations on the ant hill on the front lawn.

Thanks to a nickname given to him by his mother the ants know him as "Pea Nut The Destroyer". They treat him as We would a terrorist group, trying to figure out ways to stop him. One of them, a wizard named Zoc ( voiced by Nic Cage) comes up with a way to shrink the kid down to their size.

The ants decide he should live among them to learn life from their perspective. Along the way there are some pretty decent set peices. My favorite is when they defend the yard from a professional exterminator.

Unfortunately it seemed like they were trying to make this an analogy for what is going on in the news. So there message is kind of confused and misplaced. If Lucas is the terrorist are they suggesting we get the terrorists to learn how we live so they can see we are okey dokey.

Oh well, taken as pure entertainment it works. Add an ounce of thought to it, it could fall apart. ( B - ).
