The Ant Bully - Wholesome Entertainment.

I just watched this movie today, five years after its release year. The animation is already borderline antiquated. Its amazing how there have been leaps and bounds in animation technology over half a decade.

But looking at the movie from when it was made, the animation wasn't terrible. It's no Pixar, but it wasn't bad.

The story, script, and voice acting doesn't hide the fact that it is written for children. The story is moral and kind-hearted. Sure, there are a couple fart and butt jokes in the mix, but for the most part this is an intelligent kid's film. While it is definitely wholesome family entertainment, there truly isn't too much to offer to adults here. The jokes are truly for a juvenile mindset, which is actually refreshing to see.

I don't remember when this movie was released in the theaters. It was one that just slipped under the radar for me, but I'm glad I watched it now. If 3D had been introduced in 2006, I think this movie would have been released that way with a little extra oomph given to the visuals.

If nothing else, this movie has one truly phenomenal scene: the scalp. It is disgusting and made me cringe. At the same time, I laughed aloud at what I was forced to endure. Who doesn't like getting a little shock in an otherwise obvious movie?

This is a great movie for kids, but it doesn't have a repeat watchability element. It's a one timer, but you'll feel good at the end.
