Review of The Anonymous People (2013) by Paula P — 01 Sep 2013
This is a powerful and enjoyable documentary about addiction recovery. I have always been passionate about using my own personal struggles to help others with empathy, understanding, and compassion. I want to be an active participant in this inspiring new public recovery movement and help to transform public opinion, engage communities and elected officials, and finally shift problematic policy toward lasting solutions.
Secrets keep us sick. This film encourages and inspires. Its time for addicts in recovery to step out of the shadows and talk about their recovery lives-without stigma and shame-just like the diseases of breast cancer and HIV/AIDS emerged from behind closed doors as a grassroots social justice movement.
