Review of The Animatrix (2003) by Speed Racer(Mach Go! Go!) — 29 Jul 2008
A fascinating, challenging and surprisingly arty mixed-bag of animated tales set in "The Matrix" universe presents stories that are stand-alone as well as some tied straight into the films themselves.
Some of the shorts fire better than the others and the crown-jewel of the collection - "The Final Flight of the Osiris" - turns out to be a boring CGI-animated violence fest with no story, however there is enough gold buried within each nugget to warrant watching and rewatching for casual viewers and fans alike.
Worth your time, especially for fans of the franchise.
