Review of The Angry Birds Movie (2016) by Tvjerry — 01 Jun 2016

I've never played the game on which this movie is based, so I can't speak to the accuracy of the characters or the story. I have see a few animated movies and this is NOT one of the best. It takes place on an island full of flightless birds that's invaded by pigs who want to steal their eggs.

The frantic pace keeps every minute full of spunky energy and the voice actors are all having fun. Usually, this kind of movie is peppered with grown-up in-jokes, but this one lacks many of those…it lacks many jokes at all.

I was hoping for some campy comedy, but found little evidence. While it's colorful and lively, the whole thing is just like those birds…flightless.
