Review of The Angry Birds Movie (2016) by Stefan G — 28 May 2016
I am a big Angry Birds fan. I was a fan of it since it first came out on the App Store, so of corse you may expect some biased feelings. But despite by biased feelings, my friend and I came into the movie theatre expecting a terrible movie.
In fact, we went to see it as a joke, so if anything I was expecting the worst. But instead of seeing a laughable compilation of fart jokes and a rushed storyline, I saw a good movie, with well developed characters, a story that relates to the actual game, and even jokes that appeal to both adults and children.
I came in that theatre, knowing that it had a 2-star review and was boldly criticized, and when the movie ended, I was pissed. I was pissed that so many people disliked this movie, and most likely because it was based off of a video game.
This movie was a great movie, and despite me and my friend being teenagers, we enjoyed the movie a lot, and I bet a child will enjoy it even more. Saying all of this, I don't this that this is the best game based off of an app ever made, but the best movie made out of a game ever made.
So please, when going to see this movie, don't keep the fact that it's based of a game in the back of your brain, come in with an open mind, and maybe you'll appreciate it more.
