Review of The Angriest Man in Brooklyn (2014) by Jenna P — 14 Aug 2014
I've read some really callous reviews on this movie. All written before the late Robin Williams took his own life. When he dropped from the bridge, my heart leapt. The message is exceptional and although awkward and tired and slow and despondent in juxtaposition with the imminent countdown of minutes to live.
I thought Louis CK did an excellent job in his role as philandering Dr whatshisname. Mila was a great supporting actress with some really well portrayed highfunctioning addictive personality and it was all very poignant and relevant spiritually and morally with an fing reckless optimistic ending.
plus it asks you a lot of existential questions that a lot of people just dont ask themselves. imagine a highly emotional high frequency actor having to jump off the goddamned brooklyn bridge. talk about symbolism.
the artist process is introspective. so is this movie. its smart that it makes you laugh. a lot of the best humour is awkward and brilliant. that was this. dark and miss but beautiful like an epic indie cult classic in the making.
