Review of The Angels' Share (2012) by Kevin C — 01 Aug 2013
Hooray for Ken Loach, he's a British institution totally ignored at times by mainstream Britain. Hooray for Ken. Dour working class tales that fill you with despair. Love them! But wait a minute this is a feel-good tale from Ken. What?? Don't worry he won't let Jennifer Aniston near this.
It still has all the key Loach ingredients, and is as gritty as ever in Glasgow. But when it heads off to Edinburgh or the Highlands, it becomes much more a gentle comedy with a heart. And I liked it a lot for that.
