Review of The Andromeda Strain (1971) by Chris S — 19 Aug 2007
Michael Chrichton's first novel adapted for the big screen, about scientists trying to contain an extra-terrestrial biological outbreak. The tension builds slowly over the entire length of the film until the thrilling end.
Back when budgets weren't the size of some countries GDP and CGI didn't exist, the focus was on the story and characters. Even though the "underground laboratory" sets look dated now, this movie was ahead of its time.
