Review of The Anderson Tapes (1971) by Philip S — 02 Dec 2013
An odd film to view now since the "spy technology" is so incredibly dated. Massive cameras and microphones, "hidden" wires and reel-to-reel tape decks are almost comical. But the film has two things going for it: Sean Connery and "introducing Christopher Walken" (!!).
Walken may have ten lines but he is instantly recognizable despite that baby face. The story is a bit iffy but the action heats up fast when the caper goes down. It isn't the smartest heist film you've ever seen, but it's entertaining nonetheless.
Lazy Sunday afternoon delight (and that's not a reference to Dyan Cannon's character - or lack thereof).
