Review of The Amityville Horror (2005) by Iwuchukwu M — 06 Sep 2009
Dear Michael Bay: keep on bringin' the horror. You're good at it. The true story feel to this one [especially if you watch the special feature of the real interviews] brings this movie to life. Immerse yourself in this situation and you'll find yourself creeped out by unique characters, scary scenarios, and a truly haunting little girl.
Dear people: stop sitting back EXPECTING movies to scare you, if you play the badass audience role, of COURSE you're not going to be scared by anything at all. If you believe the unsolved murders of Amityville are enough of a real-life basis for some scary moments, then this haunting movie is worth your money.
Summary gripes: could have been more violent, needs an R rating to be outstanding.
Summary perks: real life story, creepy characters, good story progression, no cheesy lines, one of my favorite ghost movies.
