Review of The Amityville Horror (2005) by Joe C — 05 May 2010
Whilst the factual nature of the actual story is always going to be debatable, what is easier to summarise is that this is a rather good horror flick. Its sad the film was made in the early noughties and suffers from what I call the "ring syndrome" where it has been deemed necesarry to add a black haird undead little girl to preceeedungs due to the success of the prior mentioned film.
But if you can get past this minor deviation, the film its self is creepy, gripping and has some real good jumpy moments. Its not a classic but its alot better than many so called jumpers and for once you actually care about the characters playing out on screen.
