Review of The American President (1995) by Craig F — 29 Nov 2008
It's an Aaron Sorkin movie and it formed the basis for The West Wing. That's all that really needs to be said. Is it as good as the West Wing? Well, no. It was still directed by Rob Reiner, after all.
However, as far as romantic comedies go (and I've seen my share), it is very good. It is unusual to see Martin Sheen (The West Wing's President Josiah Bartlett) playing someone who isn't president.
Also, Annette Bening is very charming in this movie.
