Review of The American (2010) by Nidhi J — 06 Jun 2011
The movie is a disappointment if one has read the book by Martin Booth. While Mr.Farfalla is portrayed as a strong, wise and very shrewd man in the book, in the movie, he is too subdued. Looks like he is scared rather than vigilant.
The story has been modified to either suit the duration or audience, but it certainly lacks the thrill that the book has.
George is great, any day. But keeping him in mind, I was reading the book and had a certain image about him for the movie. But it was not up to the expectations!
