Review of The American (2010) by George P — 14 Oct 2011
George Clooney a man so attractive to women that hookers go for free, a walking talking cure for lesbianism and in this film a hitman called Mr Butterfly. Mr Butterfly is a secretive chap who would rather shoot his girlfriend than tell her his job, and because of this he ends up in a remote village in Italy. The director of this film likes Italy and we have many many sweeping shots of how fucking authentic and Italian this movie is. Its the parma ham of movies a full on Dolmio day of rustic Italian charm with a depressed hitman making light arms in the middle of it. Personally I would rather watch a film with a hitman who loves his job and hates Italian country idylls because as it is it seems very similar to George Clooney on "A place in the sun".
Then he dies.
