Review of The American (2010) by Ballinbeastauto — 04 Sep 2010
The Kafkaesque pastiche intimates rolling landscapes amidst darkened (but still heartwarmingly still) characters. Nevertheless, Clooney, albeit long in the tooth, venerates the sort of panache reminiscent Otto Wernicke (Inspector Karl in M, 1931) minus Ellen Widmanns transparency.
In summation, Corbijn never ceases, alas his stylistic nuances, forgotten.
