Review of The American (2010) by Se7Enth A — 25 Jun 2011

There is an interesting concept to this movie, stylish however it does lack the thrills and spills. It is sparse on dialogues and for those who were expecting all the above mentioned will be extremely disappointed. Action packed it is definitely not. It is slow and introspective and would be suitable to viewers who are open to this. George Clooney's performance is divine, and manages to stand out in spite of the film's dragging tone.

My main gripe was the trailer, it was being promoted like a fast paced thriller. Marketing to the public what you are promising them and then showing them something else. Now that has got to be many viewers pet peeves.
