Review of The American (2010) by Critic M — 22 Nov 2013
A spy movie with less action and intrigue than 007, less humor and excitement than Ocean's and almost zero attachment to the characters. This being said, "The American" still manages to keep you interested just enough to want to finish watching the whole film.
The movie has a great look and is shot in a brilliant way. Clooney didn't have much of an opportunity to showcase his acting talents in this, but he did a decent job working with the character he was given.
There are lots of nice bare Italiana breasts and a few bursts of action. The underlying feeling of suspense keeps you watching even through the slower parts of the film. Overall "The American" is pretty good.
Not great, not bad, just entertaining enough to work.
