Review of The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) by Garrett S — 22 Feb 2016
The Amazing Spider-man has many elements that are better than Sam Raimi's Spider-man, like the romance, the writing of Peter Parker's character and the suit (that last one does not really mean anything but still).
The Lizard is a good villain, not really that memorable compared to doctor Octavius but he still holds his own. I liked how he was not trying to just kill Spider-man, he had his own agenda and Spider-man just got in the way of that (i know Doc oc was also like that).
Peter Parker seemed like more of a hipster than a nerd at times but it can be forgiven, the romance between Peter and Gwen is fantastic, the chemistry between Garfield and Stone was great. The final act was satisfying but the whole crane thing was a little stupid.
All in all this was a pretty darn good reboot that showed promise (until the sequel ruined it all). 3.8/5.
