Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Kyle C — 26 Jul 2015
I'm sorry, were there not 3, YES 3, villains advertised for this? Because there is only 1 for the majority of this, then one appears closer to the end and the other is, not really there. Again, much like Captain America, some of this was AWESOME.
The web slinging still looks great, the fight scenes work and all the action is top notch. But also, much like Captain America, there are a few flaws. 1 is Andrew Garfield, not so much the way he acts, but more that he talks to much as Spidey, telling jokes in the middle of a fight scene does not always make sense, you wouldn't see Batman or Superman do that, and some of the scenes are a little too fast moving that you can't really see what's happening.
As well, I hate how they make Spidey look like he's flying when he jumps off of a building, he's not Superman you know, lol. And finally, there are too many villains, and they aren't really introduced with the exception of Electro, and I suppose Harry Osborne is introduced but not really focused on after he changes.
The last thing is the story, and, unlike Captain America, it doesn't lose itself that it loses your interest as well. Enough is explained in this too keep it interesting when there is not much happening action wise.
Emma Stone is very strong again, but they made a questionable decision with her character that I don't know if it was right or not, but for the majority of this, it is entertaining despite the few flaws it does have.
RECOMMENDED for Spidey fans and fans of the first film, just suspend your dis-belief.
