Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Aaron A — 31 Mar 2015

I'm a big fan of Spiderman and wasn't really bowled over by the first film of the re-boot. It wasn't executed well enough and it wasn't on par with other Marvel films (mainly because this is made by Sony). I was looking forward to an improvement in the 2nd installment, especially as Jamie Foxx was playing the baddie (or one of them at least).

I have to say once again I was underwhelmed, I thought Foxx did everything he could as 'Electro' but it just seemed 2 dimensional. Garfield and Stone showed good chemistry as Peter Parker/Spiderman and Gwen Stacey and for me that was the most convincing in the film. I thought the way in which Rhino was used was pointless and I wasn't sold on The Green Goblin. I enjoyed watching Spiderman in action but for me the franchise re-boot as not taken off. It would be interested to what it would have been like if Marvel had solely made it.
