Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Tommy T — 15 Jan 2016

I can't believe they were planning to milk Spider-Man dry.

This movie's visuals are stunning and every spider-man movie has better sights than the last, some scenes can get emotional at some points, and the quips that spider-man makes to his baddies are pretty funny. The villain Electro is pretty cool looking and has good depth to him, though he can get cartoony sometimes.

This makes it a shame to see another spider-man movie go to waste, this is the longest of any Spider- man movie, so you think you'll get time to see the villains grow and maybe team up a quarter of the way through to kill the web head, but no, the movie focuses way to much on the relationship between Peter and Gwen, and it gets too sappy for my taste, Peter in this movie and the last is like Edward from Twilight, he rides the line of sexual predator, and it gets weird when they could just have them break up and bring in Mary Jane, who they actually cast in this movie, she was going to be played by Shailene Woodley of Divergent fame, but her scenes were cut for time, they focus on the wrong things, that's all I'm saying. Green Goblin is in this, he's terrible and many people say Dane DeHaan looks too gross as Mr. Face Herpes, all I can say is, why didn't they get they design of the ultimate comics Green Goblin, the animated show did and it's great for it, here they could do amazing things with the fire hands and huge stature compared to Spider-mans smaller body, that would be bad ass, as it is, it looks like Dane DeHaan did meth for 5 years, got hit by a car, and as he's down on the ground dying, John Cena came out of nowhere to throw Toxic Waste from Robocop on his face.

I'm glad Marvel is producing the next movie, because on their own, Spider-man would surely die.
