Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Jazzmin M — 16 Jul 2016

I thought this movie was okay. The acting from Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is still great, and the performances from the other actors were good as well. The effects are awesome and the action is fun too.

The major problem with the film is that it is too stuffed with plot points and very unfocused. There are three villains in this, similar to Spider-Man 3, but while that film took time for each of them, this movie doesn't give us time to grow a connection to them.

There's just not enough time devoted to them. The Rhino was also wasted and unneeded. Spidey's cockiness is pretty grating at points. What really does make the movie work is the romance between Peter and Gwen, and I was really sad when Gwen died.

Overall, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is alright. It has problems and I definitely prefer the first one, but it's still fun.
