Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Aaron M — 22 Oct 2017

We've been through Peter Parker finding himself now we come to the part where he risks lives of people around him and has to make big decisions. Its been before in the older series and was expected.

Thats not to say it hasn't been done well, also to keep things fresh the background of his father is explored further more. What is abundantly clear in the second movie is that the relationship between the Peter and Gwen thrives, its further more aids the genuine feel Garfield brings to spidermans role.

What we also have is a cool idea for a bad guy in Electro but the link to Max Dillon, Oscorp, Harry Osbourne etc is just so linear, like previous Spiderman movies theres no backbone, really letting the series down.

I appreciate Marc Webb bringing a darker tone to the series and it works, certainly for the first but here not so much. Amazing Spiderman 2 is good, but its effects are superb. Worth watching for if you enjoyed the first, but its not as good and doesn't have half as much action as the trailer portrays.
