Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Corey M — 06 Aug 2015
Terrible, it's like they started with "Hey let's make Amazing Spidermn 2, this time he'll fight Electro." and everyone was down with that and they wrote a script. Then someone said, "This movie needs to relate more to the comic book it's based on.
" Ans collectively they said, "Well they killed off Gwen Stacy in the comic book, so let's do that." there was a round of applause and they rewrote the script. Two weeks into shooting someone ran in with an actual comicbook in hand and shouted, "Gwen Stacy is killed by the Green Goblin not Electro! And every fanboy knows this! This movie will fail on this premise alone!" So they dissected Sam Rami's script from his first Spiderman film and frankensteined it into a Joel Schumacher level villain team up.
Which is ironic because then someone pointed out this film suddenly did become Batman Forever without Robin starring Spiderman, so they added this mystery about Peter's father tinkering with his DNA thing from the Ang Lee hulk film that didn't work in that film either.
And to top it all off to lessen the predictability and the impact of leaks to the net they added the Rhino for the last seven minutes of film. So they ripped off four superior comic book movies an smashed them together to make this poor excuse for a film by any definition.
