Review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) by Caleb B — 09 Nov 2018
This sequel is the reason why multiple villains is a terrible idea for superhero film. If not written well (which it is not, in this case) it becomes a messy collage of bland performances (excluding the great performances of Garfield, Stone, and newcomer to the franchise Dane DeHaan) that finds little consoling in the expertly-crafted special effects.
It is a massive letdown.
