Billy Bob Thorton continues to amaze me. To me, this guy is one of the better actors out there. I thought he was very engaging as Davy Crockett, and I liked Dennis Quaid as Sam Houston. The rest of the cast was so so.
I loved the battle scene at night with the aerial shot. That shot there could rival most any battle scene in any movie and it was done without CGI.
