Review of The Air I Breathe (2007) by Sugeiny T — 25 Aug 2008
Any movie with Andy Garcia in it is worth it. Even more so when he is starring along Brendan Fraser and Kevin Bacon. The 3 of them give exceptional performances, Garcia and Bacon are always impressive and shocking.
Fraser gave a performance I'd never seen him give before, and he portrayed it perfectly. A very unlikely character for him, we're used to see him as the dogmatic hero or the funny man, never as a truly disturbed, complex, multidimensional guy like he definitely was here.
I also love to see Emile Hirsch here, alongside this actors and he didn't dissapoint, I think he is going to be one of the greats because that what his performances always are. The plot is one of those 6 degrees of separtion theory working matter where all lives are connected somehow.
It's not as great as Crash and Pulp Fiction but it was an okay attempt. The development of the plot was a little foggy and so was the development of the characters, even though all of them were interesting.
What makes this a must-watch are the great performances of everyone, even Sarah Michelle Gellar.
