Review of The Air I Breathe (2007) by Kieran K — 21 Oct 2008
Interesting premise, commendable acting but I'm not entirely convinced if the whole story has a point. I mean the characters' parallel existence seem to contribute very little to the significance of the story other than the fact that they chanced upon each other.
I felt most engaged with the characters played by Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Geller and Andy Garcia whose scenes are the only scenes with some beef in it. The rest of it pretty much felt like fillers to me. Cut those off and "The Air I Breate" would've been a much better flick.
But having said that, Fraser did a great job departing from his usual comic roles and Garcia still commanded great screen presence. Not a bad soundtrack too.
