Review of The Air I Breathe (2007) by Marcus M — 19 Dec 2008
My curiosity bit me in the ass over this one.
Lame, incoherent and happenstance. Brendan Fraser is pretty awesome, but flat. Sarah Michelle Geller is okay, but her "change" of attitude feels sudden and confusing. Kevin Bacon doesn't appear long enough to really matter, though he's at least slightly appealing to watch (for all of the 5 minutes or so he appears). Andy Garcia is also in this movie, where he does stuff. Lots of stuff. He's the "foci" of the movie, but a really lame one at that. Forest Whitaker... why is he in this movie? Oh right, he likes butterflies (for no good reason).
Ultimately, a more interesting premise than actual product. Or, as I called it early on, "A poor man's 'Pulp Fiction'" (except without any of the awesome).
