For the most part, I was excited about the cast. Then, as the movie got going, was even more excited that it promised to deliver a non-Hollywood ending. At the risk of being a spoiler, they were killing everyone off, and it was totally working for me.

Then they handed us a Hollywood ending.. Having said that, the individual performances (Forest, Brendan, Kevin, Andy, even Sarah Michelle) were solid. In the genre of the multiple - story - line - with - interesting - intersections (what DID we do before Pulp Fiction?.

..) it was not bad, there was plenty of darkness.
