Review of The Age of Innocence (1993) by Lorianne R — 03 Mar 2006
A beautiful love story, and a painful one. I can't help but feel little sympathy for Newland though, and I feel like the heart of the movie is the radiant Michelle Pfeiffer, and the equally radiant Winona Ryder. The filming techniques used are perfect, and Scorsese is undoubtedly a genius.
Of course this is also a classic novel ... and a period story ... so there's no way I wouldn't love it.
