Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Alleli A — 19 Aug 2015
If you are looking for a fantasy, where you can be beautiful, rich, have a dream job despite having to change identities frequently, and be 29 exactly as long as it is convenient, then this is your movie.
Abandon your already orphaned daughter, sleep with your jilted ex's son, then show up to ruin his anniversary - it's all good. There are evil-woman thrillers that check off her infractions as justification for the horrific death of the woman in question.
Adaline, however, is so delightful that actions befitting a psychotic stalker are forgiven. The final chase scene should have been completely absent, since Harrison Ford could have easily blocked the driveway with his car, but since she needed another magic traffic accident to resume aging he pulled up behind her instead.
There could have been a good movie here. Instead they smeared Vaseline on the lens and hoped the pretty people were enough.
