Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Dann M — 23 Oct 2015
The Age of Adaline is a well-crafted and compelling character drama. The story follows a young woman named Adaline Bowman who doesn't age and must re-invent herself every decade to avoid suspicion, but her blossoming new romance with a charming philanthropist gives her hope that she can stop running.
Blake Lively gives an excellent performance and has a classic look that enables her to seamlessly blend into the various time periods (whether it's the '20s, the '60s, or modern day). Additionally, the sets and costumes are quite impressive and give the film an elegant look and feel.
And the score is quite beautiful, providing an enchanting, surreal-like quality. Incredibly heartwarming, The Age of Adaline is a captivating tale about the magic of life.
