Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Jamie F — 27 Apr 2015
I loved the idea of this movie. I did enjoy it, but there were a couple of things that brought it down a notch for me. First, there was entirely too much narration. I understand certain things may need explanation, but I don't want to feel like someone is telling me a story when I'm there to see a movie.
I want action, interraction, and visual. Secondly, and this is probably more of a personal preference, I would have liked it if more of the movie took place in the past so we could begin to understand this woman, Adaline, a bit more, and how her condition has affected her.
I know the point of the movie is the potential love interest in her present, though, so I get why they filmed it this way. I almost wish this story had been a book first. I think exploring those things I was missing from the movie in a novel would be glorious.
Overall, I did like the romantic aspects of the movie and I felt the acting was welldone.
