Review of The African Queen (1952) by Robert V — 26 Dec 2007
Hepburn and Bogart (she as an uptight Christian, him as salt-of-the-Earth engineer) are superb. With a terrific premise - an against-the-odds trek down a dangerous river in a clapped-out old tug - and a charming script, the two of them carry you along on this humour-tinged romantic adventure all the way to its neat conclusion.
Definitely a sound investment of your time.
