Review of The African Queen (1952) by Kevin U — 05 Apr 2010
The film certainly became one a kind back in the beginning of the 50's. It's a triumph among everything possible in film making. A good score, a mature themed adventure tale, and the best unique mismatched pair of characters to assemble onto the big ratio full screen.
John Huston brought everything from adventure to romance to drama, it bared it all in 50's styling. Bogey sure had a way of playing a rugged character against Hepburn, and this made it an interesting piece of classic cinema to watch.
Although to think his role was being a Canadian, not even one mention of 'Eh!'.
